So what does a 24-hour telethon of cocktail making have to do with raising money for a charity? Well, first of all it allowed us to create the tag line “Raise a Glass, so we can Raise some Money for Kids!” I mean that’s pretty solid already.

But if you want more, here is the short story. Every year we try to raise money to buy new coats for kids in need. Our coat drive is different in that we don’t look for used coats; we take all the money we raise and buy brand new coats for kids. We think kids getting a warm coat is great, but getting their own, new coat, is both warm and a source of pride.

So each year, because we want to give more coats, we have to raise more money. This year we hope to provide 2,000 coats! If you’re keeping track at home we are over the $500,000 dollar mark in coats we have donated since we started doing this back in 2009!

Wanting to do more is great— but it means we have to get more and more creative on how we do it each year. This year it’s our 2nd Annual 24-hour, Kill Poul’s Liver Telethon; we are asking people to donate money and order a cocktail of their choice from the Blue Monkey Quarantina. We want to see 75 cocktails ordered from people like you! The minimum donation to get your own cocktail is $250, but we do accept donations of all sizes! I mean it’s for the kids.
